In recent days, Kenya has witnessed an unprecedented political transformation driven by the activism of Generation Z. Unlike previous demonstrations led predominantly by political parties and older generations, this new wave of activism is characterized by the innovative use of social media platforms to organize and mobilize Country wide protests. This has drawn global attention by challenging traditional power structures and redefining the landscape of political protest in Africa. This lecture explores the unique dynamics of Generation Z’s uprising in Kenya, examining how their digital savviness and commitment to social justice is forcing significant changes in the government.
